You are cordially invited to attend the marriage of
Captain James Hook at the 5th annual Salem Pirate Faire!
The Salem Pirate
Faire, New England’s original pirate-themed
festival, is back for a fifth year! Pastimes Entertainment is pleased to
announce its return to Winter Island Park for this wildly popular interactive
theatrical event, which offers audiences young and old a chance to meet the
most storied pirates in history and literature, and join them for their
adventures on “Pirate Island.”
Last year, Blackbeard met his
end on Pirate Island, but left behind a king’s ransom in treasure. This
year, Captain Hook and Captain William Kidd, the reluctant pirate, are racing
against time and each other to find the missing fortune, while several eligible
bachelorettes clamber for the chance to become Mrs. Captain Hook, Queen of the
Pirates!
The Salem Pirate Faire is a
unique daylong adventure that has become a fall tradition for thousands of
would-be pirates in New
England. The faire features
a storyline that runs throughout the day, a number of interactive scenes designed
to draw the audience in and make them a part of the show, games, music, food
and refreshments, merchants in our “Tortuga Marketplace,” a children’s treasure
hunt, costume contests, and much more!
The 2008 Salem Pirate Faire
is scheduled for Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 from 10 AM to 5
PM each day. This is a rain or shine event!
Admission is $10 for adults,
$8 for students, seniors, and members of the military (with ID), and $5 for
children ages 4 to 12. Premium on-site parking at Winter Island Park is $5 per
carload, and free parking is available at nearby Salem Willows Park.
SAVE ON GAS! Winter Island Park is also accessible by public transit via the MBTA
commuter rail and the Salem Trolley.
